The landscape is home to various routes along which you can discover flora and fauna and it makes a perfect destination for sporting activities such as hiking, horseback riding and, especially, recreational fishing.

Among the most emblematic places of interest are the remains of the village of Tragó de Noguera, lying in ruins under the Santa Ana reservoir. We can also find various architectural elements from the Middle Ages, such as the church of Santa Maria de Vallverd, of which only the chancel remains. This was part of the former female Cistercian convent known as the "Convent del Pla" or "Convent de les Bernardes". The Romanesque church of Sant Julià, located in the abandoned village of Boix is close by.

It is worth visiting the Canelles dam, where there is an energy interpretation centre, and the Black Cave of Tragó, featuring fossils, stalactites, stalagmites and waterfalls, thanks to the erosion caused by the waters of the Blancafort mountain range.

FLORA AND VEGETATION

This space offers a variety of Mediterranean-style habitats, including holm oak and kermes oak forests, maquis and garigue shrubland, as well as pine groves.

This area includes protection zones for the bearded vulture (Gypateus barbatus) and the common otter (Lutra lutra).
